The rules of PredictOcean: how you earn points, what counts as fair play, and what we keep about you. Last updated 7 October 2026.
Points & scoring
PredictOcean points are your score. They add up on your profile, rank you on the leaderboard, and unlock avatars and frames. Only signed-in players earn them; guests can play, but their scores aren't saved.

Examples. A quiz round with 7 right answers and one timeout: 7 × 2 − 1 = 13 points. Win a duel with 4 right: 4 + 3 = 7 points. Lose a duel with 2 right: 2 points.
The details for each mode are below.
Quiz rounds

- You start each round with 3 lives. Questions give you 15 seconds, Five Clues 30 seconds per player, and Who Am I 10 minutes per player. In Who Am I, skipping to reveal another club costs a life.
- A round's score never goes below zero.
- Each question pays once. Answer it right again in a later round and it still counts as right, but earns nothing new, so replaying the same season can't farm points.
- Get at least 80% of a round right to clear its season and unlock the next one. Guests can play up to Season 2; log in to go further.
Daily challenge
- Five questions, the same for everyone, 15 seconds each, one try per day. No lives.
- +2 per right answer, plus a +2 bonus for all five: up to 12 a day.
- A new challenge starts at 00:00 UTC. Play it every day to build your streak; a daily started before midnight can still be finished a few minutes after.
Live duels
A duel is 5 questions, 15 seconds each, against a friend or a Find Match opponent. Both of you see each question at the same moment. A duel has two numbers: the duel score on screen decides who wins and is gone when the duel ends; the PredictOcean points you earn are kept on your profile.

The speed bonus shrinks evenly as the clock runs down: right with 8.2 seconds left scores 134, right with 6 seconds left scores 125. The most one answer can score is 150, and a whole duel 750. Speed is timed by our server, so your connection doesn't count against you.

- A perfect win, all 5 right, earns 8. A loss with nothing right earns nothing.
- PredictOcean points come from your first 5 duels a day, and at most 2 a day against the same opponent. Duels past either limit still count towards your win/loss record.
- A duel nobody finishes is called off: no result and no points.
Leaderboards
- All time ranks your total PredictOcean points. This week counts points earned since Monday 00:00 UTC.
- Clubs and Countries add up the points earned this season by every player who picked that club or country on their profile.
Fair play
- Every answer is checked on our server. Points shown in your browser before that are only a preview.
- Don't use bots or scripts, share answers mid-duel, or run several accounts to trade wins or climb the leaderboard.
- We may correct points earned through bugs or abuse, remove players from leaderboards, or close accounts that break these rules.
- Pick a username and photo that are fine for everyone to see: no impersonation or offensive content.
Your account
- Sign up with an email and password, or with Google. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in safe.
- PredictOcean points have no cash value. They can't be bought, sold or swapped for anything outside the game.
- PredictOcean is a football trivia game, provided as is. We work to keep questions accurate and the game running, but we can't promise either is perfect.
Privacy
What we keep, and why:
- Account: your email, username, and a securely hashed password if you set one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile photo from Google.
- Profile: the country, favourite club and avatar you choose.
- Play: your quiz rounds, daily results, duels, points, streaks and badges, so we can score you and rank you.
- Friends: who you're friends with. While you're signed in, friends see when you're online, and other players looking for a match see your username, photo and how many players are online.
- On your device: a sign-in token and your game progress are saved in your browser so you stay signed in. Logging out removes the token.
Your username, photo, country, club and points appear on leaderboards and to other players. Every player also has a public profile page, viewable by anyone with the link, showing their rank, points, streak, badges, duel record and recent duels (with opponents' names). We don't sell your data or show ads. We email you only for sign-in codes and account messages.
Changes
We may update these terms or the scoring rules as the game grows. When we do, the date at the top of this page changes. Points you've already earned stay yours unless they came from a bug or broke the fair play rules.
